The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC—国家发展和改革委员会) announced on Monday evening that China will increase gasoline and diesel prices by 600 yuan per tonne beginning Tuesday. After the adjustment, the national average of 90# gasoline and 0# diesel oil will increase by 0.44 yuan and 0.51 yuan per liter respectively. Bei Jing, for instance, after this adjustment, the price of 93# gasoline has reached to 8.33 yuan per liter.
The decision to raise the prices came after international crude oil prices climbed more than 10 percent since Feb.8, when the retail prices of both gas and diesel was raised by 300 yuan per tonne each. However, more and more people complain that they can not afford such high oil prices and they have to switch to public transportation. In one word, the raising oil prices will influence on people”s life to a certain extent.
