Do you think our manager is going to have a new factory built?
你认为咱们经理会打算建造一家新工厂吗？
People have been talking of it a lot recently.
近来人们对这事谈得很多。
I simply don’t know. He may have plans, but he hasn’t yet spoken to me about them.
我一点儿都不知道。他也许有计划，但他还没跟我谈他的想法呢。
Do you think it’s possible that it will happen?
你认为有可能建厂吗？
Of course. Right now we can’t produce goods quickly enough for all our customers.
当然可能啦。现在我们还不能很快地为我们所有的顾客生产商品。
Many of them have to wait six months for their goods.
许多顾客不得不等上半年才得到所需的商品。
What’s the problem with building the new factory then?
那么，建新厂有什么问题吗？
The problem is finding land for it.
问题是要找到土地来修建厂房。
The majority of people in the town want to encourage new industry in the area.
城里大多数人都希望促进这一地区工业的发展。
New jobs are needed because a number of people are out of work.

But some people don’t want good farmland to be built on.

I can see the problem. What do you think is likely to happen?

I think our manager will persuade the government to let him build a new factory.
我想经理会说服政府让他建新厂的。
It’s quite likely that a decision will be made before the end of the year.
有可能年底前就要作出决定。
Is there anything that we can do?

I don’t think so. We just have to trust our manager.
我想帮不上吧。我们只能相信经理了。
