It was used for keeping tea hot after it was made,said Wei Hua. It was filled with hot water.

These days we use a thermos , said Li Lei.

I Know. That’s a good idea! said Ann. But in England we still make tea in teapots.
“明白了。是个好主意!”安说,“但是在英国我们仍用茶壶泡茶。”
That’s what we did in China in the old days, before thermoses were invented, said Wei Hua.
“那是我们中国从前未发明出热水瓶时的做法。”魏华说。
What’s that? asked Lucy. She pointed at a strange thing with three legs and a strange top. It was made of metal.
“那是什么?”露西说。露西指着一个有三条腿和一个奇怪的顶部的怪怪的东西问。是用金属造的。
That was used for drinking, said Wei Hua.
“那是饮用东西的用具。”魏华说。
How interesting! said Ann. It makes me feel thirsty!
“真有趣!”安说,“都让我觉得口渴了!”
I’m feeling thirsty, too! said Meimei. Look, it’s noon already! Let’s go and have a drink!
“我也口渴了!”梅梅说,“瞧,已是中午了!我们去喝点东西吧!”
The group of girls all moved on and had a good drink of tea together, from a modern thermos!
这一群女孩一块儿去享受了一番茶水。她们用得是现代的热水瓶!
