Look! It’s inside another pot. What was that pot used for?
“瞧！还是大壶套小壶呢。有什么用途？”
It was used for keeping tea hot after it was made,said Wei Hua. It was filled with hot water.
“那是在茶沏好后用来保温的，”魏华说，“用来装热开水的。”
These days we use a thermos , said Li Lei.
“如今用的是热水瓶了，”李磊说。
I Know. That’s a good idea! said Ann. But in England we still make tea in teapots.
“明白了。是个好主意！”安说，“但是在英国我们仍用茶壶泡茶。”
That’s what we did in China in the old days, before thermoses were invented, said Wei Hua.
“那是我们中国从前未发明出热水瓶时的做法。”魏华说。
What’s that? asked Lucy. She pointed at a strange thing with three legs and a strange top. It was made of metal.
“那是什么？”露西说。露西指着一个有三条腿和一个奇怪的顶部的怪怪的东西问。是用金属造的。
That was used for drinking, said Wei Hua.
“那是饮用东西的用具。”魏华说。
How interesting! said Ann. It makes me feel thirsty!
“真有趣！”安说，“都让我觉得口渴了！”
I’m feeling thirsty, too! said Meimei. Look, it’s noon already! Let’s go and have a drink!
“我也口渴了！”梅梅说，“瞧，已是中午了！我们去喝点东西吧！”
The group of girls all moved on and had a good drink of tea together, from a modern thermos!
这一群女孩一块儿去享受了一番茶水。她们用得是现代的热水瓶！
Excuse me! Can you tell me the way to the museum, please?
劳驾！你能告诉我去博物馆怎么走吗？
Yes. Go along Zhongshan Road, and turn right at the second crossing. Go across the bridge.

Last week, a group of Class 3 students decided to go to the museum in the centre of the town.

They saw many old things on show in glass-topped tables.

Some of the things were hundreds of years old.

Several girls stopped and looked in one of the glass-topped tables.

The things on show were all used a hundred years ago.

Oh, look! said Ann. What’s that? She pointed at one of the things.

It was made of red silk.

It says here,on this card, that it was used in plays, said Meimei. it’s a king’s hat!
“这儿，这张卡片上说那是演戏用的，”梅梅说，“是国王的帽子！”
Is that true? said Lucy. She was surprised. Is it a real king’s hat?
“是真的吗？”露西问。她感到惊奇。“那真的是国王的帽子？”
No. It isn’t real, said Meimei. It was used in plays.
“不，那不是真的，”梅梅说，“那是演戏用的。”
There’s an old teapot over there. Isn’t it beautiful! said Ann.
“那儿有一个旧茶壶。它不美丽吗？” 安说
