Getting ready for Ann’s party
准备安的生日。
On Saturday, Ann came home from school a little earlier.
星期六，安放学后提早了点回家。
She felt worried. She wanted to get ready for her party.
她有点儿着急。她要为自己的聚会作好准备。
Mother, can we cook the food now, please? she said. I’m worried about my party.
“妈妈，请问现在我可以做吃的东西了吗？”她说，“我担心我的聚会。”
The sandwiches are all ready, said her mother. I made some dumplings last night, too!
“三明治全都做好了，”她妈妈说，“昨晚我还做了一些饺子哩！”
What a good idea! said Ann. Not everyone likes sandwiches. What about my birthday cake?
“多好的主意！”安说，“不是每个人都喜欢三明治的。我的生日蛋糕准备好了吗？”
I made your birthday cake last night, when you were in bed, Mrs Read answered.
“昨天晚上你睡觉时，我就做好了你的生日蛋糕，”里德夫人回答说。
We only need to put the candles on it, now.
“我们现在只需把蜡烛插上就 行了。”
Oh good! said Ann. May I put them on, please?
“好啊！”安说，“我可以插上蜡烛了吗？”
Certainly!said her mother.
“当然可以！”她妈妈说。
Ann began to put the candles on her cake. Then she counted them.
安开始把蜡烛插到她的生日蛋糕上。插完，她数了数。
There aren’t enough candles, said ann. There are only twelve. We’ll need one more.
“蜡烛不够呀，”安说，“只有12支。我们还需要一支。”
I’ll get another one now, said her mother.Don’t worry.
“我这就再去拿一支，”她妈妈说，“别担心。”
Did you telephone Li Lei?
你给李磊打电话了吗？
No, I didn’t. I didn’t have his telephone number.
不，没有。我没有他的电话号码。
